The Secret Suitcase is an app that is perfect in our time of growing and learning that thoughts are energy. An empowering app for kids to practice sending positive thoughts of Joy, Compassion, Gratitude, Generosity and Self-Confidence! Kids can store away their thoughts or share them as they wish via email or uploading to the website. This is a life skill that will become a very useful life tool. Kids can set their imagination and creativity free, expressing all that is good in them and others. Kids will receive wishes after sending just three out. You can choose between English and Spanish.
The Maks and Mila characters can be changed easily providing more variety. Kids can change the outfits, hair, and more. The graphics are great and help to stimulate kids to keep creating! The app features recording, reading and writing which enhances their skills as they progress. This a very special tool that should be utilized by Teachers and Parents alike! The app presents a good opportunity to open a dialogue with kids on the power of our thoughts and their impact on themselves as well as others. This app is presented to us by Mila Publishing Sàrl. What was the initial inspiration for your app?
The free SECRET SUITCASE app is an addition to my children’s book “Maks & Mila On a Special Journey”, which helps children to develop Joy, Kindness, Generosity and Self-Confidence in their lives by focussing on the positive and by sharing kind wishes.
I have seen for myself how powerful it is to do this and I wanted to give children the opportuntiy to experience this as well. I believe that every child has the right to be Happy & Confident and because not every child can buy a book, I also wanted to create a free app because most children nowadays do have access to an iPad or iPhone.
What is your favorite aspect of your app?
Sending the kind wishes! It is so nice to surprise someone you love with a kind wish, it just makes you happy! During my last school visit in the United States, I had the children send kind wishes to each other in the class and when I asked them how it felt they said: “so good!”. And that is how it feels indeed!
Through the app, children first can expand their idea of what ‘kind wishes’ there are because I give them examples. Later they can also write their own wish or record it.
When developing the app, it was my focus to create a safe environment for the kids to share these kind wishes and that is why they can only send kind wishes to people who are listed in the contact list of their parent’s iPad or iPhone.
