What was the initial inspiration for your app?

A few years ago, MindSnacks CEO Jesse Pickard was trying to learn Spanish before a trip to South America. He was excited to learn the language, but was struggling to find the time — and motivation — for tutoring, flashcards, and desktop software. One day in the subway, he noticed everyone around him was immersed in their phones, most of them playing casual games like Angry Birds. It was at that moment that he realized how educational games could fix this problem by making learning mobile, casual and fun.

What is your favorite aspect of your app?

One of our favorite aspects of the app is its ability to engage folks by delivering bite-sized lessons that can be played in short bursts. Our games teach users new words, phrases, concepts, context, grammar and more, making MindSnacks perfect for all ages and learners on the go!

Is there anything else you would like to share with our readers?

With over 6 million downloads, the MindSnacks portfolio currently features: Spanish, French, Italian, German, Mandarin, Portuguese, and SAT Vocab. Forthcoming subjects will include Kids’ Vocab, Geography and Math.
