As with many things in my life, Mathemabot was inspired by my three children, who played a big part in the development process with their brutally honest critiques, and hours of beta testing. Having seen them complete countless math homework sheets and quizzes, I decided that my first venture into this emerging technology would be an app that could help them and others in strengthening those all-important math skills that form the foundation for future learning. I also recognized that my children seem to learn best when they are given rewards, praise, and competition, so those observations served as inspiration for the structure of the math problems, and recess game. All told, Mathemabot wouldn’t exist without the influence and inspiration of my kids.

My favorite aspect of Mathemabot is the integration of the appealing graphics with the accompanying sound effects and music. A great deal of time was spent in creating the right character, music, sounds and animation to give the child an entire experience, without need for written instructions or cues. Every part of Mathemabot was designed towards capturing and maintaining the child’s attention, and giving them the opportunity to have fun while increasing their knowledge, confidence , and skills, and I think we hit that goal.
