Leo and Pals 2D Shapes is a fantastic shape app that was created by a husband and wife team! Play with Leo and his pals in their jungle settings! Shapes and Colors are easily learned as kids tap away and work on collecting certificates. The graphics and narrative are an enticing draw for your kids to keep coming back for more. There are 3 levels of the game to enable you to set the app to your child’s level of understanding. The ‘Learning’ Tab describes each shape to kids to help them easily associate with the correct shape.

The certificates that are earned are printable to further reward kids for their efforts 🙂 Thankfully, this app is advertisement free and a wonderful tool for preschoolers to get a great grasp on shapes. The app is presented to us by Coding Grasshopper LTD.

Meet The Developers!

What was the initial inspiration for your app?

When Jo returned to work after having our second child, the school she worked in had started using iPads and she started to see the benefit of how they could enhance children’s learning. Also our eldest child started showing interest in using the iPad but we found that while there were a lot of apps for keeping children entertained there were few that were truly educational. We decided to use our skills as a teacher (Jo) and software engineer (Darren) to create an app that would focus more on the educational side of things and Leo and Pals was created.

What is your favourite aspect of your app?

The friendly audio that guides the children though the app helping them to learn along the way and the certificates that can be printed to hang on the wall or be printed as an outline for children to colour in later. It’s important to remember that the iPad is only part of the educational experience.
